On March 16th we started our road trip to Olympic National Park. We took our trailer and stayed at the Olympic Adventure Campground outside of Forks Washington. We wanted to see as much of the park as we could in our five days there, so we had an action packed itinerary.
On March 17th we visited Bogachiel rain forest in the morning and it rained and hailed on us. The weather cleared up in the afternoon we went to Rialto Beach and walked on the beach for a couple hours. In the evening we went to La Push on the Quileute Reservation and enjoyed a nice sunset on the beach.
On March 18th we went to the Makah Reservation and visited Cape Flattery, the most northwestern point in the continental United States, where the strait of Juan de Fuca meets the Pacific Ocean.
On March 19th the weather turned on us and it rained day and night. Overnight there was thunder and lightning all night and we woke up to a 3 foot sinkhole in the middle of our campsite.
On March 20th we braved the rain and went to Ruby Beach and visited the Tree of Life. The wind and rain were so strong it kept blowing my tripod over. On March 21st we visited Port Angeles and visited Hurricane Hill. The top was completely fogged in, so unfortunately we did not get to see much. We also visited Madison Falls and Lake Crescent.
On March 21st we started our journey home. The Hoh Rain Forest was closed when we visited, and there is so much more to see, and we definitely want to go back.
